Introduction

I have completed my undergraduate studies in Political Science (majoring in International Relations) at York University in 1999. I graduated among the top 5% of my class. I pursued my legal studies at Osgoode Hall Law School graduating in April 2002. During the Winter term of 2002 I was also part of the Parkdale Community Legal Clinic, providing legal services to Toronto’s poor and underprivileged.

After my Call to the Bar in July 2003 I was asked to remain at Green & Spiegel as an Associate where I stayed until August 2009. During my nearly 7 years at Green & Spiegel I was mentored, among others, by the renowned and widely respected Mendel Green (Q.C.).

Since 2002, I have represented and guided clients through the refugee process, both in Canada and throughout the world, starting with the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) hearings (inland) or Convention Refugee Abroad applications (for overseas refugee claimants) and ending with the Pre-Removal Risk Assessment determinations. I have also represented clients at the Federal Court in various Applications for Leave and Judicial Review (challenging refusals issued by both overseas as well as inland processing centers) as well as Motions for Stay of Removal. My success rate on Leave applications has been particularly impressive, significantly exceeding the average.

Moreover, I have worked extensively on all types of applications for permanent residence, such as: Federal Skilled Worker; Business Class (Entrepreneurs); Family Class Sponsorships and Humanitarian & Compassionate cases, just to name a few. Further still, I have processed all types of work permit applications, from Intra-Company Transfers and applications pursuant to Labour Market Opinion (LMO), to NAFTA professionals. At the same time, I have also dealt with foreign nationals with various types of inadmissibilities and facilitated their entry to Canada through the TRP and Criminal Rehabilitation process.

Finally, I also garnered extensive experience on the business-side of immigration practice, having worked with some of the company’s largest corporate clients.

I can assist clients in English and Polish. I am a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Immigration Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
